Hey, I’m Megan but my best friends call me Meg. I’m bright, bubbly, and some call me the “Queen of Halloween.” When most people see me setting up for a wedding they comment on how calm, efficient, and well-organized I work. I sincerely feel that crafting weddings are my gift.
I’m married to my best friend and we live a life full of adventure. I wake up every morning so thankful that I’m my own boss and have grown a successful business. Being a wedding planner is so much more than having a pretty event. It’s about the friendships built with my clients over the years and the true care that comes along with planning your wedding. I believe your wedding celebration should be a reflection of your love.
Aside from planning weddings (which basically takes up the entirety of my life, but I wouldn’t have it any other way), I love to travel. Going to places I’ve never been before, seeing beautiful sites, and experiencing the variety of cultures the world has to offer is a huge part of who I am. David and I have a goal to travel to all 50 states’ together (and do something meaningful in each to make it count). We only have 4 more states to go!
My favorite places we’ve visited so far are Savannah, New Orleans, Salem, and Kauai. If you need any travel tips and tricks or places to go, I am 100% your girl. My favorite foods are fried chicken, mac and cheese, and lobster. You’ll know I’ve hit vacation mode when you see me post a picture of Lobster Mac on my Instagram stories. I really enjoy cooking; I cook almost every night. David and I sit at our dinner table like an old married couple and chat about our day.
I love Halloween and all things horror. I transform our home into a haunted house every year and live my best life. I typically have multiple Halloween costumes and my pug is always dressed up. I’m here for all things pumpkin spice, apples, and fall vibes. I basically live in a romantic comedy, so you’ll almost always catch me watching scary movies, true crime, and serial killer documentaries.
I adore all creatures. Almost every animal is cute to me – snakes, possums, bats, etc. I am a true animal lover. I rescued over 57 toads this past year from my egress well. My favorite animal is probably a pug.
David and I crossed paths many moments in our life without meeting each other. We grew up in the same small town and didn’t meet until the end of my senior year of high school. We were in the musical Seven Brides for Seven Brothers together and David was my suitor. He didn’t win my heart in the musical, but he won my heart in real life. If you would have told me then that I would have married my high school sweetheart, I would have told you that you’re crazy.
Twelve years later, here we are.
Our wedding day was a mix of traditional and non-traditional. We had an intimate wedding and my grandmother crafted all of our wedding centerpieces. I couldn’t have had our wedding without her experience and talent. I ruffled the feathers of my family by having my bridal party wear all white dresses, but I wouldn’t have had it any other way.
David and I live close to the small town where we grew up and have two dogs. Lola our ten-year-old grey-chin sassy pug and Fynn our anxiety queen bad-legs rescue pup. We travel all over the world and thrive on new experiences and culture.
David is in the Michigan National Guard and being a military family is a major part of our life. David was recently deployed for 13-months and I was here holding down the business, home, and doing it all during a pandemic. Writing love letters is a part of our love story and for almost 6 months we exclusively were only able to write to each other to communicate. Speaking of love letters, I recently found a box of love letters written during WWII at a thrift store. We’re working together to solve the love letter mystery and return the letters to their rightful owners.
Our daily life is filled with us working in our home offices, side-by-side. We are constantly laughing and being silly with each other. We love to eat, garden, and are currently binging all of the seasons of The Amazing Race.
